Worship in the Episcopal Church is rich in tradition
and beauty thanks in large part to the liturgy and music that grace our
services. Congregational participation is vital to our worship, and there
are many opportunities for parishioners to help lead in worship.
The Children’s Choirs meet regularly through
the school year on Wednesday afternoons. Their anthems and special
offerings enrich
worship throughout the year. Young people are encouraged to become
Acolytes. Acolytes carry torches or the cross in the procession. Older
youth assist the Deacon at communion.
Wednesday evenings will find many of Trinity’s
musicians in rehearsal. Through the school year the St. Cecilia
Handbell Choir meets
Wednesdays at 6:00PM. Immediately following that the Adult
Choir rehearses
in the chancel. Those of us who sing and play bells
encourage you to consider ringing and singing. There is room
in the choirs for you!
Adults are also active in the worship services as Ushers,
Lectors, Chalice Bearers and Greeters. Lectors read the scripture lessons. Chalice Bearers offer the cup at Communion
and lead the Prayers of the People. Training is held during the year
for people who
fill these jobs and new volunteers are always welcome.
